Goals #5 - Gender Equality
As students will learn about EDI concepts and have the opportunity to analyze EDI's role in an organization, this will support SDG Goal #5 Gender Equality: Equal representation in public and private institutions, employment and gender inequities, violence against women, etc. are all issues that need to be addressed for an organization to be successful.
Goal #9 – Industry, Innovation, Infrastructure
The CSR business model encourages companies to recognize (and adjust) their impact on society and the environment. By incorporating CSR policies into a business model, companies are building sustainability into their company infrastructure. By operating in a way that enhances rather than degrades society and the environment, the business model links to sustainable industrialization and innovation and supports this SDG Goal.
Goal #10 - Reduced Inequalities
Through an EDI-lens, Goal #10 (Reduced Inequalities) is addressed. As EDI perspective within a business model focuses on empowering and promoting social, economic, and political inclusion of all; equal opportunity for all employees; fair fiscal/wage policies; ensuring representation at all levels; an understanding of basic human rights; as well as the importance of diversity in the workplace. These issues are fundamental to reducing inequalities in a fair workplace and for a successful company.
